In March / April PICOTEAM participated in a GIZ mission for evaluating the BMZ regional programme on "Integrated and climate-sensitve land use for economic development in Central Asia". The evaluation mission was combined with preparing a follow-on programme, focusing again on sustainable and integrated land use, mainly on pasture and forest management.
At the beginning of December 2016, PICOTEAM supported GIZ to launch the new IKI BMUB project "Biodiversity and Ecosystem Sercives in Agricultural Landscapes" in Tajikistan. GIZ, together with German Agro Action (Welthungerhilfe), implements this global IKI (International Climate Initiative) project, which focuses on biodiversity conservation and enhancement of ecosystem services in agricultural landscapes in Tajikistan, Kenya and India between 2017 and 2020.
From February 2016 to date, PICOTEAM has been supporting strategic management processes of the GIZ-EU programme CLIFOR (Adaptation to Climate Change in the Forestry Sector of Honduras), which concentrates on community forest management and collaborates closely with the Honduran National Institute for Forestry (ICF), the national government forestry authority.
